FanPic = Lean App. Fat Buzz.

In my consulting and various other dealings with aspiring microISVs, I notice certain recurring patterns. One of the most common is the belief that it is just one missing feature that is holding back a product from the commercial success it deserves. As soon as that feature is coded the sales are going to come pouring in! When they don’t, then maybe it was that other missing feature that our competitor has. It is a horizon that keeps receding until you run out of money or enthusiasm. But, in my experience, poor sales are almost always due to insufficient marketing. A fact that is borne out by these 13 case studies. It doesn’t matter how great your software is if no-one know about it, or if you can’t persuade them to try it when they do find out about it.

Lean App. Fat Buzz. This is my mantra for my FanPic.me. It's gonna be all buzz, no app. Maybe there will be that's if I learn to code.

In line with my mantra, please like fanpic's facebook page http://www.facebook.com/pages/FanPic/213738235319195?sk=app_201143516562748 .

DNS Now Moved To Zonomi - what 10thousand hours of computer training can do

P550

After weeks of receiving email notifications from zonomi that my fanpic.me DNS was still not redirected, and after my countless times of tweaking godaddy dns manager, and after almost of giving up, fanpic.me's dns is now with zonomi. All it needed was just 1 glance of mark on my godaddy account, and it got solved.

So if you're a tech dodo like me, and you don't have someone techy you can call right away, better try iwantmyname.com. but nevertheless, zonomi.com is not really that hard and for a minimal fee, go DNS challenge yourself with zonomi.

The 101 Apps I Need to Create Before my Killer App FanPic

I finally have my teaser ad for my fanpic facebook page. I believe that the pre-pre-pre-launching of an application or any product is as important as the final launching of the final product. So to do some pre-pre-pre-pre-launching buzz in my own little way, I planned of putting a customized facebook page or app or whatever you call that but that something that look like a billboard along the streets, only this time it's inside facebook.

So anyhoo, I follow this tutorial on some social media expert site to the last details but all I got is a 404 error in facebook after installing the app. All I wanted to do was just f*cking paste (i need to curse coz i'm cool) the following Teaser Billboard on my fanpic facebook page but it just did not work!!! Even after going thru having someone asked to put up a server for me, all the effort was just kaput.

So I realized I also need to make an app for that -- making making a customized facebook page easy. And, on top of that, my AAA programmer is currently working on another app for the pre-pre-launching of my fanpic. That app will be used for my 'beta invites.' And, this beta invite app is I realized more complicated than my final app fanpic itself because it will have analytics. You know, it's a numbers game world out in the cloud.

Yes, it's complicated and crazy. But as the 'Three Cups of Tea' master said, 'any great things are worth doing slowly.' And, in my case tediously.

Web Service? Cloud? %&%^&$^$^$^&$??? The Time Has Come When Cloud Can Be Bought

I signed up to Amazon Web Services for my new killer application. Since every start-up or not app always uses that aws1 aws3, I should have that also for my FanPic. After the sign up page, I met these list of $@%^%$ services:

Explore Other Amazon Web Services

Only the Mechanical Turk is familiar to me, the rest are *(^&^%&%^%$)(*. What the f*ck are those alien words??? (I have to curse right cuz I'm cool.) Anyhoo, my kirk-asz programmers will handle those. And, talking about programmers, I have to stop my 'recruitment'. I have more than enough triple A programmers to build 10 googles and AOL and IE.

Mac Designer is Cool But IE Designer Rules

I take back whatever I said on my last post that to be the shiznit designer, I need to be in the Mac cult. But reality hits me when my first case on my first day of work is scrolling issue of the app on IE6. In my mind I said, "What the f*ck? Can someone pour water to the computers of these IE6-using people?" (Yes, I need to curse because I'm cool yaknow).

So reality is IE still rules. So sayonara Mac-ish cult designers, I will design for IE. It's called classic design which cavemen are still fond of.

Revamping Site Design to Show I'm Part of the Elite Designer Club Using MS Paint/Comic Sans on MBPro

I changed the cotton-candy cloud design to woodpanel theme. I have to show that I'm an elite designer. You know, how they say in the web app world, interface design is your product so who gives a sh*it what's underneath the hood as long as it has that ajax/jquery/and whatever magic that just adds loading time to your site.

And, so to prove that I am an elite designer, I need to be like influenced by Steve Jobs. My design must have some Mac / Apple touch to it like woodpanel theme.

So welcome to my new shining shimmering splendid blogsite theme. I'm allergic to Comic Sans but then this design template seems to use Comic Sans but, still, this is woodpanel just like how Mac-user designers want it to be.

I read a saying that goes something like, "It will take 3 years to build something around an idea. So if you have an idea, start doing little things about it."

So this blog, announcement is my 'little things' to realizing my grand idea.
